Bali is often reduced to its beach clubs and nightlife. I've spent enough time here to know its real magic lives in its culture, architecture, and its people.

Culture plays a huge part in Balinese tourism with some of it feels almost unreal. Take Nyepi, the Day of Silence, when all activity halts for 24 hours, even the airport.

Moreover, The traditional Balinese homes aren't single houses but walled compounds, clusters of open-air pavilions called bale, each built according to centuries-old Hindu-Balinese principles which balance the human, natural, and divine. And you can see that same philosophy scaled up across the island, most visibly in its temples.
